STORY

IISLA Ventures approached Dual Story at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic to strengthen their commitment towards rural development. Playing in the impact investment sphere, both in the UK and in the Philippines, IISLA is now taking on the challenging role of channeling conscious capital towards rural development. Dual Story has since become its official brand and communication partner.

Powering through the racial discrimination that IISLA’s Filipina founder and her waitressing mother constantly met, she eventually became one of the lead executives of a UK bank. It was there she found her a-ha moment: impact investment held far-reaching effects. This is how she could help her home country.

Dual Story entered the picture to support their multi-cultural team as they relaunched into the pandemic. Since then, we’ve become IISLA Venture’s official brand and communication partner working on corporate identity, brand development, website copy, and events management.

Detail-oriented Founder Jennifer Beloria saw her vision brought to life with our collaborative brand development process. Together, we revisited the nitty gritty from defining the brand name to honing their vision and mission.

New perspectives. Integral to IISLA’s self-discovery process were external custodians like Dual Story. An outsider’s point of view harbors space for fresh questions and insights. We ascertained that high-concept jargon became understandable to different stakeholders such as social enterprises and angel investors.

Storifying visuals. With the semblance of a flower, the logo signifies an inclusive and closed-loop economy with petals alluding to IISLA’s five core values. Through clever play with colors, shapes, and forms, Dual Story crafted a logo to reflect the female-led organization and appeal to their market of women leaders. A professionalized, reflective identity strengthens brand recall and ultimately aligns IISLA Ventures with their goal of driving conscious capital to rural development in the Philippines.
